Shinobi Samurai Experiences

OUR HISTORY

This organization is centered around the Shibata family, a lineage of samurai who served for generations as hatamoto—direct retainers—of the Tokugawa shogunate, which governed Japan for approximately 260 years from its base in Edo (modern-day Tokyo).

Among the clan were ninja who accompanied the Tokugawa on the perilous Iga Crossing, magistrates who handled foreign affairs, and individuals skilled in intelligence gathering and the crafting of concealed weaponry.

Today, the group applies this specialized knowledge to promote world peace and international goodwill. At our dōjō, we offer immersive cultural experiences that introduce visitors to the traditions of the Shinobi-samurai.

Flexible, Personalized Encounters

All plans are open to requests.
Some guests have spent two full hours simply asking questions, and we responded in kind.
Others have sought counsel on managing anger, and we offered techniques from both samurai and shinobi perspectives—one guest left saying, “I found my foothold!”
Some come to learn various forms of meditation.
Others have trained intensively in the art of “snake walking” to prepare for a competition in their home country.
Each visit is shaped by the guest’s needs, and guided by our commitment to presence, adaptability, and care.

It is an 80-minute experience plan.

Main activities may include:

For those who feel the premium plan is too short, this option allows deeper immersion. Includes:

• Disassembly and explanation of real swords
• Body techniques
• Stealth movement
• Deep meditation
Mid-level teachings are unlocked within each activity.

Our highest-tier plan. Senior instructors respond to your requests and share advanced techniques without reservation. Many guests say even 80 minutes isn’t enough—this 100-minute session elevates your experience to its fullest. Extensions are available upon request at booking.

Additional offerings:

• Shinobi Tea Ceremony: A health-preserving tea brewed with iron kettle and traditional grinder.
• Armor Dressing: Includes commemorative photo, movement instruction, and training in armored sword techniques such as “helmet splitting.”

Note: Dressing and undressing each require 20 minutes. Available only when no guests are scheduled immediately after.

    Rickshaw Transport (Reservation Required)

    Up to 2 guests per rickshaw (max 2 rickshaws / 4 guests total, consultation required). Your driver is a trained shinobi from our clan.

    Pricing per rickshaw (2 guests):

  • From Ginza Line Tawaramachi Exit 1 → 4,000 JPY incl. tax (approx. 10 min)
  • From dōjō to Asakusa Kaminarimon → 7,000 JPY incl. tax (approx. 20 min)
  • From dōjō to Ueno Station Iriya Exit → 7,000 JPY incl. tax (approx. 20 min)

    Touring routes incur additional fees.

    Q . I would like to participate in a training program. Do you offer trainings？
    A . Our facility is for cultural experience; unfortunately, no training program is offered.

    Q .What kind of clothing is suitable for the experience program?
    A . For your comfortable experience, it is recommended to wear clothing that is easy to move in. Actually, there are some guests wearing skirts; it is entirely up to your preference.
